We are proud to announce that on 6th April 2017 Roperhurst MD Bob Lane was elected to the Board of Building Engineering Services Association (BESA).
In December 2016 members of BESA voted in favour of changes to the BESA Constitution. The most significant change is the introduction of a board to help shape the strategic direction of BESA. The board is comprised of four officers, the BESA Chief Executive, BESA’s Finance Director and three member representatives.
Roperhurst has been a long-standing member and supporter of BESA. In its earlier incarnation as HVCA, Roperhurst were members of the Ductwork Executive and its CEO at the time, Garaham Handley, chaired their committee which published DW154 (Fabrication and Installation of Plastic Ductwork). More recently Bob Lane has been Chairman of the Association in Wales, Chairman of the Ductwork Executive, and a member of the technical panel which published revisions to DW144.
Roperhurst Director Phillipe de Wilde said “Roperhurst is very proud to be a leading contributor to BESA and the broader ductwork industry. In electing Bob it’s clear that our fellow BESA members hold his knowledge, expertise and integrity in extremely high regard. I know he will do his utmost to drive standards across the building and engineering services sector, and particularly in plastic ductwork fabrication and installation.”
Bob retains his responsibilities within the Ductwork (now Ventilation) Executive and leading the redrafting of the revised DW154.
